Anyone who knows me knows that I love gadgets. Matter of fact one of my nicknames is Gadgetzilla. 🙂 I was reading a magazine and of course checked out the ads. II saw an add for for a massage roller by Roll Recovery. I went to the website and after watching the video I had an “I’ve got to buy and try this thing” moment. Considering what it does, I think it’s reasonably priced.
I have brutal trigger points…brutal in the sense that no matter how much attention I give to getting them out (foam rolling, and using my Trigger Point kit, tennis balls, or the Stick) I still have them. I love my Trigger Point kit, but some of the knots are so deep in my quads, calves, and hamstrings, that  I can’t seem to reach them.
Anyway, I got my R8 massage roller by today. It was perfect timing as I got a huge charley horse in my calf during my swim workout on Sunday and it still hurts today. I tried to hit the trigger points causing the cramp, did calf stretches and stretched my quads, but it hung on and was extremely painful. After just a few minutes using the Roll Recovery it was like “boom” and it pretty much disappeared!!
An added bonus is it’s flat and portable. I can put it in my gym bag if I plan to use it after a hard workout. And when I travel, I can pack it in a carry one instead of using up half of my suitcase by having to take multiple items.
Now that I’m training for triathlons in addition to road races, I know that I’m going to get a lot of mileage out of this massage roller.
Thanks to the folks at Roll Recovery for creating the R8. I love your product and your customer service is outstanding!
