Conversations about the new normal
June 1, 2020

Normally I’m a very productive person. I create lists and check off items as I complete them. My business allows me to work both in the office and at home. At the end of February 2020 I started teleworking 100% of the time. I know that this has been the same for others. I love teleworking, but for many people the change drastically impacts their daily routine. The upside is you can continue to work while offices and businesses are closed.

Is your productivity suffering while teleworking?

So what is the unintended effects of 100% teleworking? Does your mind wander when you work at home? Do you find that you’re easily distracted? Do you feel unmotivated?

We create habits and routines when we work in an office. For example, you start your day by grabbing a coffee on the way to work and then taking a moment to get organized before things get busy. If you are able to telework on a periodic basis then for the most part your life may be business as usual.

But the current environment of 100% teleworking may effect your productivity AND your stress levels. The barrier between your work life and personal life gets blurred. In some cases it entirely disappears.

I get it…I’m right there with you. And I have some tips on how to address this in my video below.

Tell me what you do to stay productive while teleworking. Please let me know if you need any suggestions. You can leave me a note in the comments either here on on YouTube.
