After a really great track workout on Wednesday, I wanted to keep up the momentum. I wanted to run on Thursday, but I worked 12+ hours yesterday so I missed the really great weather in DC. Today is cold and a bit rainy. So I decided to do a treadmill workout instead.
As usual, I walked the first 5 minutes to warm-up. I turn on my Garmin when I start to run so I have an idea of my cadence and speed. I like to run faster than the belt moves so I simulate road running rather than letting the machine do the work. However, my Garmin seemed to be a bit wacky today. It said that I ran 2.26 miles in 29:50, but I really felt like I was moving faster than it was registering. My calf cramped at 2.26 miles so I walked until I finished the 5K. My total distance on the TM was 3.11 miles in approximately 40 minutes, which included my walking warm-up and cool-down. I’m exhausted and probably dehydrated from working so many hours yesterday. BUT, this was my 3rd run so far this week (Mon (long), Wed (track), & Friday (TM). Just about 12 miles of just running so far. WOOT!
