Hello world!

I am a factoid person. More times than not, I usually have something to say about a variety of topics, events, or just life in general. So I decided to write it down in a personal blog. Why? Because “Life” is a journey and I’m fortunate to have done some amazing things, met some unique individuals, and work in an industry that I love. I want to share my experiences with people and ask that they will share back.

So, I’m balancing my professional and personal responsibilities to allow me to achieve some goals that I put on the back burner. Right now I’m rediscovering my inner-athlete. I have been involved in athletics and the performing arts for more than 1/2 of my life. I’ve competed in varsity sports and performed professionally in musical theatre and ballet. “Life” got in the way and I just didn’t seem to have time for it any more. Well that has changed.

On June 6, 2010 I ran my first 5K race as a 46th birthday present to me (thanks to support and encouragement from my friend Melanie). I’m now training for a 10K race. After that, I’d love to do a half-marathon. Who knows from there? To fit in my running and cross-training, I have to be more focused at work and as a result of my workouts, I have almost boundless energy.

I’m going to share my stories, anecdotes, observations, streams of consciousness, and opinions about a variety of topics. I’ll probably start with posts about my training since that’s taking up a lot of my time. I think it’s interesting that I’m in better shape at almost 50 than I was in my late 30s. I’m finding there are a lot of people who think that past 40 is only rocking chair time. I want to change it to just rockin’!

I’d love to hear back from people with questions, comments, suggestions, and stories. Thank you for coming with me on this wonderful journey.

Spread the love
