First triathlon relay

I did the Celebrating Heroes Triathlon 2012 relay as my first exposure to a triathlon (I did the run leg). Needless to say that I am hooked! I can’t wait to do a full Sprint triathlon. On top of this great feeling, I had an awesome surprise as I was nearing the finish line of the run leg. I came around the corner and there were my teammates and friends with a "Happy Birthday" sign and balloons. I couldn’t believe it. So I got to celebrate my first triathlon relay team finish…and have a belated birthday party at the same time. In addition to the sign and balloons, they also put an ice cream cake on dry ice to keep it cold throughout the morning. How awesome was that?!?
